When a relationship comes to an end, the grieving process is the same as when you lose a spouse.
You are grieving the death of that relationship that you used to be identified with.
The first thing you do when you get that call that the relationship is, Shock.
You are in disbelief that this is happening to you. Then you go through the emotions by beating yourself and blaming yourself that you are not good enough for him.
The other side is you can then start to blame the other party for the breakup.
The truth of the matter is, you have to take responsibility for your feelings and stop blaming shifting. Stop looking for revenge or an apology from the other party.
Use that energy to forgive and find healing for yourself and you have to do the work to heal.
Life will go on with or without you.
